https://euraxess.ec.europa.eu/jobs/115734 The Doctoral School of the AGH University of Krakow, Poland welcomes applications for a PhD project on modelling of isotopic signatures in precipitation using particle-based cloud microphysics. PhD project outline: https://rekrutacja.doktoranci.agh.edu.pl/ZagadnieniaBadawcze/?pg=Podglad&zb… Doctoral school site: https://www.sd.agh.edu.pl/en/agh-doctoral-school/ Admissions regulations: https://www.sd.agh.edu.pl/en/admissions-20232024/ Online candidate registration: from Jul 3rd till Aug 26 2023; Entrance exams (physics, English) on Sep 19-20 2023; Starting date: Oct 1st 2023. The project will be carried out at the Environmental Physics Group, at Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science, AGH University of Krakow (http://rainbow.fis.agh.edu.pl/) in collaboration with partners from Uni. Hyogo, Japan and from Uni. Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. The project envisages formulation and implementation (Python, open-source, see: https://github.com/open-atmos/) of extensions to the PySDM cloud-microphysics simulation package enabling simulations of isotopic fractionation of water in mixed-phase clouds and precipitation. The prospective student will be supported with both the doctoral school scholarship and a stipend funded by the Polish National Science Centre. For details, see: https://euraxess.ec.europa.eu/jobs/115734 For more information on the university, city and the campus, see: https://www.agh.edu.pl/en/university For more information on the project and recruitment, please contact Sylwester Arabas (PI): sylwester.arabas(a)agh.edu.pl -- https://slayoo.github.io/
